Sean Kadel
Health & Welfare Sales Director
As the director of health and welfare sales, Sean Kadel is responsible for managing and leading new business development for Alerus’ health and welfare sales team. He also collaborates with external and internal distribution partners to ensure access to Alerus’ diversified products and services.
Sean has more than 10 years of experience in the retirement and health and welfare industries. He previously served as vice president of development for Retirement Planning Services, Inc., which was acquired by Alerus in December 2020. He has a deep understanding of all aspects of health and welfare plans, including flexible spending accounts (FSAs), health savings accounts (HSAs), lifestyle spending accounts (LSAs), health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs), and COBRA plans. He also has significant experience with pension plans, including 401(k)s, cash balance plans, and defined benefit plans.
Sean holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado, and attended Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kansas. He is an accomplished athlete and has received numerous awards and national recognition for golf. He has two daughters and lives in Littleton, Colorado, with his dog, Gizmo. In his free time, Sean enjoys spending time with his daughters, cooking, and being active outdoors doing activities including golfing, hiking, biking, and skiing.
